Walgreens had some pretty good deals today. I have been waiting to submit my rebate to receive 2 free Olay Quench Body Lotions. I bought one several weeks ago at Rite Aid and I have been “laying in wait” to find another one for a great price. Walgreens had a sale today. Buy one Olay Quench Body Lotion for $7.99 and receive one Olay Quench In-Shower Body Lotion for Free ($4.99 value). I had 2 coupons ($2.00 off the body lotion, $1.00 off the in-shower body lotion). This was a great money making deal! Now I can mail in my rebate to receive $7.99 back on today’s purchase and $4.99 on a previous purchase. Pictured below is everything I bought at Walgreens today. Total cost: I was paid $1.53 to buy all the items.

Paid to buy items at Walgreens

  • Olay Quench Body Lotion $7.99 ($2.00 MQ)
  • Olay In-Shower Body Lotion $4.99 ($1.00 MQ and Walgreens subtracted $4.99 from my total due)
  • Ivory Soap 6 pack $1.59 (not a deal but I needed it for the survival kits being sent to Haiti tomorrow)
  • 6 Hershey Candy Bars $0.49 (3 BOGO MQ) (only 4 pictured – 2 were eaten before I could take the photo!)
  • Yeah – free – Paid $1.53 to buy these items (after rebate)

Beer Rebates – An Easy Way to Get Food for Free!

(This post may include affiliate links which means we may earn a small commission from the advertiser when you click through our links. See our disclosure policy here.)

January 23, 2010 By Couponing to be Debt Free 11 Comments

I have recently discovered that beer companies will fund my groceries/debt reduction through beer rebates! If you live in one of the following 14 states, be ready to save! In AL, AR, CT, HI, KY, ME, MD, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OK, UT and WV, you are not required to make the stated beer purchase in order to receive a rebate.

Recently, I spotted a Heineken rebate at the cash register at my local Kroger store. I asked the cashier if I could have one and when I got home I read it. Sure enough, the rumors I had been hearing about beer rebates was true. Beer companies would really fund some of my grocery purchases since I live in Kentucky.

The rebate I found stated:

Get $20 back from purchasing two 12-packs of Heineken, Heineken Light, or Amstel Light AND $30 worth of premium crackers, cheeses, salty snacks and/or fresh deli items

OR

Get $10 back from purchasing one 12-pack of the same and $20 worth of the other items

Since I didn’t have to buy the beer, I simply had to buy $30 in crackers, cheeses, salty snacks and/or deli items. When I combined these items with coupons and sale prices, the $20 rebate fully paid for the $30 in food purchases.

I am currently working on a Coors Light beer rebate (found here – there are 4 different rebates. Find the one that applies to your state) that will fully pay for my tostitos, salsa, and Mountain Dew.

Apparently, beer rebates will often pay for meat and seafood. I can’t wait to find one of those rebates! The neat thing about these rebates is you can often submit more than one receipt and you can purchase your food items from any store you wish. Look for these rebate forms around beer displays, on blogs, on eBay, and websites.
