I ran into Kroger last Saturday (the day before I left for Washington, D.C.) to pick up some needed items. The total value of the groceries was $79.80. I used $8.25 in coupons and received $20.86 in store savings (37% savings). So, that means that I spent $50.69. This has to be one of my most expensive trips since I seriously started using coupons. That’s what happens when you are short on time and don’t have a plan worked out – you pay more! Planning is definitely the key to saving money.
