Summer is in full swing around here and one of our family favorites to eat is corn on the cob. Since it’s so cheap right now (around $0.17 per ear) I’ve been thinking about different ways to cook corn. We usually wrap it in foil, add butter and seasoning and throw it on the grill. However, I hate having my husband fire up the grill just to cook corn so I thought I’d try throwing it in the crock pot instead. I wasn’t convinced it would taste quite as good as on the grill but it was worth a shot. To my surprise it was really delicious and super easy to make!
- Place each ear of corn on foil
- Add butter, salt, pepper (and any other seasoning you like)
- Wrap each ear individually
- Place in the crock pot
- Cook on high for 2 1/2 – 3 hours
- Voila – it’s that easy!
Now that the corn is cooked, how do you like to eat it? I love eating it straight off the cob. Some of my family members like to have the corn kernels removed from the cob. Check out this stainless steel corn cob peeler. It works like a charm when removing the kernels.
