This is an awesome list! I bookmarked & pinned it so I can go back to it later. I am actually excited to clean LOL 🙂
Never thought of all this things. Thanks for sharing
These are all wonderful uses for the Magic Eraser. My favorite way to use the Magic Eraser is to clean my sneakers.
I have one of these that I haven’t used yet. Thanks for the suggestions. I’m sensitive to chemicals in cleansers, so I’ll try these ideas. Thanks!
I’m going to get one of these and try it in the bathroom on the shower tile – sounds like a good idea and I think I’ll try it on the car too!
I have use magic eraser in a lot of clean jobs and they do a good job

Wow – some of these I never thought of! Thanks!
Magic Erasers are miracle workers! I absolutely love them. My favorite use for them is cleaning the bath tub. It is so easy and fast compared to any other product I have tried. They are also great for cleaning scuffs from the walls. I go through Magic Erasers like mad!
How big would the magic eraser need to be if you clean the whole bathtub or the whole two shower tile walls (I have 2 tiled walls and 2 glass walls on the shower ?
I have never seen large magic erasers ?
I use one average eraser to clean tub and walk in shower with 2 tile and 2 glass walls. Works great!
I need some rust remover. That is always my toughest to deal with. As for everything else, thank goodness for Magic Erasers!
I just recently bought some of these and discovering all the different uses for them.
Never thought to try it on my stove! I am going to try that next time it needs cleaned!
I just had the kids use the Magic Erasers to clean all the marks from the walls this week. Love those things!
Dollar Tree has a much less expensive brand. Works just as well.
To let you all know, you can get a generic version at Amazon, just look for “melamine foam”, they will run you about $7.00 for 60.
Thank you, bought 60 from eBay for $2.90 they paid postage, got them in 4 days and they use faster but at that price you can’t go wrong
It is my understanding that magic eraser CANNOT be used on highly polished surfaces like granite counter tops, fiberglass tub/shower enclosures, hardwood floors, chrome, stainless steel, brass, etc. Is that correct??
i have used magic eraser to clean my glass shower door, (i sprayed tilex soap scum remover first), i’ve used it on my chrome dishwasher. I loved the results. i DO NOT recommend using it on hardwood floors ( i did this- it dulled the clear coat. i DO NOT recommend new fiberglass showers – i use it on my 10 year old shower surround and 10 year old basement shower. i love the results! i also had dulling on my dining wall ( black scuff marks from chairs on white walls-(satin finish paint) a little dulling.
Here’s another use…they work great, if not awsome, as an eraser for “dry erase” memo or calendar boards. The erasers that usualy come with them never really erase the brighter color(dry erase) pens wthout leaving a ‘shadow’ behind. But the “magic” ones leave it clean as a whistle, with nary a memory of what was wrtten before!!
I have a white medal door in our kitchen and write grocery list on it and use magic erase to keep it clean, plus I have hard water aND use Magic Eraser to clean medal sink and coffee pot out
Watercolor artists use magic eraser to remove paint from
their papers
I love magic erase too, but a chemist at the local university said they are extremely poisonous and should be handled with gloves and wash the surface you cleaned with water. I use magic erase on white running shoes; they look Like new shoes and they’re a few years old.
These are great ideas but nothing was said about how to use them… Do you use it dry? Wet? with cleaners? Thanks.
Dry and with no cleaners. 🙂
An even better way to save a lot of $$, is to make your own ‘Magic Errasers’ we use them for EVERYTHING!! So even though they are only $2 a piece.. Those things break down pretty quickly and disappear to practically nothing! So something I actually found on Pintrest while using the search feature is the material they use to make the Magic Errasers.. I forget the name of it but it is commonly used for construction/home improvement projects.. Just search for home made Magic Errasers to find out the name of the material.. You can order a VERY VERY large block of the material for about $12-$15 on Amazon and you just simply cut them into the appropriate sizes for your family.. This large block should last you well over a year!! And it’s literally the SAME EXACT PRODUCT that you pay over $8 for just 4 Magic Errasers.. Once you find out the name of the material, you can also call around to all of your different home improvement stores to see if they carry it.. But I’ve found the best price to be on Amazon.. This SAVES YOU SOOOOO MUCH $$$!!! Happy Cleaning! ????
Why do the magic erasers fall apart
Melamine foam.
Ok, so I just looked up the name of the material that’s used to make Magic Errasers.. In continuation from my last comment.. It’s called Melamine Foam! And you can also purchase a very large box on Amazon that is the same size block but already precut into Magic Erraser size for you.. It’s a couple dollars more but saves you the headache of having to cut the large block down yourself…. And waaaaaaay cheaper than buying the store brand!! Should last you forever! ????
Thanks Leanne for looking in to this. What a great tip and so much more affordable!
I used the Magic Eraser on my copper sink and it made scratches on it. Had I known that would happen I wouldn’t have used it. Is there some way I can get the scratches out? Couldn’t figure out what made the scratches till I was doing some research and discovered it on Pinterest. Would appreciate any help if there’s an answer. I just had the sink installed this last year so was pretty upsetting.
Thanks!
Oh no! Maybe someone has some answers for you and will leave you a comment.
