As an 8th grade math teacher, I am continually asked by parents what they can do to help their children with their education. There are so many resources available and I thought I would highlight tools and resources I find. Every Wednesday I am going to post an educational resource that is free or a really good deal.
BrainPop is an online animated resource that explains educational concepts in a really fun way. Your child can follow the escapades of Tim and Moby (Tim’s robot sidekick) through educational cartoons. There are cartoons for every content area – even math (math resources like this are hard to find). You will find a few free videos in each content area and you can sign up for a free 30 day trial. I use it frequently in the classroom when I want a topic explained in another way. All videos come with quizzes and other resources. I encourage you to check BrainPop out. My students really enjoy watching Tim and Moby – even my “cool” 8th graders.
